You may find that you have an item in your inventory that has multiple pieces associated with it. At some point you may decide that you want to separate these into their own skus. An example of this is the following. Lets say you have a pendant and chain that are sold together and were entered into BusinessMind as one sku. You now want to separate these into two different skus.
The first step is to manage the qty of the combined sku down to zero as this will no longer have any qty. When doing so be sure to type a proper note for why you are doing this. http://docs.bmjapp.help/inventory-and-services/how-to-change-the-qty-of-a-sku-from-the-sku-detail-view
Next, simply receive into inventory the separated parts. As per my example I would add the pendant into inventory then I would add the chain. Each would now have their own sku. Again when doing this I would add a detailed note of the process to each sku added. http://docs.bmjapp.help/inventory-and-services/how-to-receive-items-into-inventory-version-610
Lastly it would be good practice to go back to the original sku and add an additional note in the notes field containing the new sku numbers created for the separated items.
The notes I recommend are optional but will help you when looking back at either records to inform you what was done to them.
