How to modify tax when creating a layaway
Select the item you want to add to the layaway
Click on the defaulted tax
This will bring up the list of available taxes
Select the tax you want to apply, in this example we are not charging tax so we will select the No Tax option
Click the check box to save your changes
Complete the layaway as normal
How to modify tax when the layaway is being picked up
Lets say the tax was incorrectly set when the layaway was created. This can be easily changed when the customer is picking up the layaway.
Load up the layaway the customer is picking up into the cart.
Here you can see the tax on the layaway
Click on the layaway to bring up its details
Click on the tax line
This will bring up a list of available taxes
Select the tax you want to apply, in this example we are not charging tax so we will select the No Tax option
Click the check box to save your changes
Click the check box to get back to the cart with your tax modification
This will bring you back to the cart with your new tax information and updated totals.
Complete the transaction as normal.
