In version 6.8 the general user interface of BusinessMind has received a much needed update. This article will guide you through some of the major changes.

The new application home screen.

The Main Window

The main application window and it's contents now more closely resemble a browser-based interface. However, understand that this is not a browser based interface. The appearance and "feel" of the application has been updated to closely (but not exactly) mimic a browser style interface in order to provide some uniformity between the desktop version and the upcoming browser based version of BusinessMind.

Tabs

Opening into new tabs is no longer the default mode of operation for navigation as it was in the legacy interface. Features that still support opening into a new tab can be used in a new tab by holding the command key (Mac) or windows key (Windows) down on the keyboard while clicking to navigate to the function OR by simply right clicking on the record you want opened in a new tab.

The application supports a maximum of 5 simultaneously open tabs. The main window title changes to always describe the feature area currently in view.

Desktop Menu Bar

Almost all navigation for accessing features has been moved out of the Desktop menu bar and into the main application window. (See "home screens" below). This change has been made for interface uniformity across desktop, browser, and mobile BusinessMind usage. This is also a more familiar interface style for users of other modern applications.

The Main Navigation Bar

The main navigation bar is displayed at the top of the screen. Depending on what action you are taking, additional task-specific function icons may appear below it.

The four primary operational centers of the application (Inventory, Sales, Workshop, and Contacts) each have an associated "home screen". The home screens provide a convenient aggregation of feature navigation and summary information for each of the operational centers.

Home screens can also display data visualizations of your own creation via Tableau Integration. Beta!

List Views

List views have been completely redesigned to eliminate excess complexity and be simpler and more enjoyable to use for the majority of users.

Paging Navigation
List views display results in pages of 100 rows per page. Navigation controls at the bottom of the view allow for paging forward and backward through the set.

Sort Controls
