The BusinessMind shopify integration allows you to populate and manage your shopify database directly from BusinessMind. In addition with location tracking enabled businessmind can supply shopify with a qty count of the item so when a customer places an order on your website, the amount available on the website will go down immediately. It does not actually leave your inventory in BusinessMind until you acknowledge the order and fulfill it.
NOTE: Existing items on shopify can not be linked to items in BusinessMind. You must add the items into BusinessMind and have BusinessMind send them to shopify.
Before discussing how to utilize the shopify integration take a look at this basic breakdown of the process:
You utilize BusinessMind to populate your shopify web site with your inventory.
Customer places an order on your website.
Shopify deducts this from the availability of that item on your website immediately.
You receive a notification from Shopify that there is an order pending.
You review the order and proceed to fulfill it if all looks well (else contact customer, cancel order, etc).
You physically collect the item from vault, or showcase, etc, and then generate a beautiful BusinessMind store receipt for it. This step deducts it from inventory in BusinessMind.
You click the "capture payment" button on the order in the Shopify screen and click "fulfill".
You put the item and the receipt in box and ship to the customer.
The process is well thought out, easy to do, and, designed to keep the humans in control. 😎
The below info will guide you on how to utilize the BusinessMind shopify integration.
BusinessMinds shopify integration is handled from the Model view. From here you can control what displays on shopify. Please read the details below on how this all works. We also have a great video with this informations linked here.
Click on the Inventory link from the BusinessMind home page.
From the View Models are you can search for the model you wish to add to your shopify.
Click on an model to bring up the detail view OR right click on the model to bring up the detail view in a new tab.
Here you will find the available shopify fields. I have listed the info of each of these below.
On Web – This box MUST BE checked in order for the item to appear on Shopify.
Keep On Web If Qty 0 - If this is toggled the item will appear on shopify even if you have zero qty in BusinessMind.
Shopify Tags - Tags can be utilized on the shopify backend to create collections. You can set multiple tags separated by commas. Example: earrings, diamond, 18kt, gold
Shopify Title - This is the title found on the shopify item and is required to upload to shopify. If you leave this blank BusinessMind will send the first 60 characters from the description to shopify for this field.
Shopify Description - This is the description that will display on shopify. If this is left blank the description will populate from the description field.
Online Tracking0 - This populates the shopify product type
Online Price - If this is left blank then the price will come from the SKU. If you fill this info in then this price will display online.
Online Disc. Price - If this is filled in it will override the items price and also populate the Compare at Price field on the shopify backend (which will display the original price and the price will be your disc price.
Exclude Images - If this is checked BusinessMind will send the item up to shopify without an image. This is useful if you would like to manage your images from shopify directly. If this is not checked then the image will come from the model record.
Once you have set the proper info click the save icon to save.
BusinessMind will send the info to shopify and it will display. There can be a short delay for the item to display on your shopify.
Here is a quick mapping guide of the BusinessMind model to the Shopify product.
From the shopify backend you can create collections based on various factors including the tags, vendor, pricing, ect... to display your items.
In addition shopify now supports qty tracking. Please review this link for info on how this needs to be set up. http://help.dcit.com/en/articles/4104122-how-to-enable-qty-tracking-to-your-shopify-integration
Do not attempt to modify an items info from the shopify backend as those changed will NOT reflect in BusinessMind and will result in your info not matching.
